ITALIA 90
The ITALIA 90 open call is the initiative chosen for the official opening of CONDOMINIO’ space in Via Melchiorre Gioia 41, Milan. The call, which in its name has a clear and explicit reference to the famous World Cup, invites those born after 01/01/1990, Italians or people living in Italy, to send a photographic project with a free theme.
The candidate projects will be examined by a jury of experts, including Francesco Zanot (Curator), Elisa Medde (Editor - Foam magazine), Niccolò Fano (Matèria Gallery), Federica Chiocchetti (Curator), Giangavino Pazzola (Curator - Camera Torino) and Alba Zari (Artist), who, together with our curatorial team, will select a dozen particularly deserving artist who will show their project in the occasion of the group exhibition at CONDOMINIO. Specifically, per single project, it will be produced one piece of artwork and a booklet in collaboration with the publishing house Skinnerboox.
The aim of ITALIA 90 is to create a sort of national atlas, within which a number of authors can be gathered, that can outline the characterizing features of the future generation that today deals with the photographic language in all its contemporary forms.
Note: Following the emergency health situation, for organizational reasons, the exact date of inauguration of the exhibition is not indicated. With the hope that everything will be resolved in the coming months, the exhibition is planned for next autumn.
